Jen has been teaching the art of dance for 16 years. She began her dance training at the age of 5 with Frances Stevenson, and then with Sandra Baker's Studio of Dance. She finished her dance training at Kathy Medina's Studio of Dance where she trained for 6 years and was part of an award winning national team, qualifying for Team USA for the International Dance Organization. As a teacher, she has taught all ages and enjoys passing on her passion for dance to her students. Her routines have been recognized for her choreography at competition, and one of her solo routines even qualified and competed for Team USA in Germany at the IDO. Jen is happy to share her love of dance with all of the Erica's Dance Academy family.
For over 25 years of teaching, choreographing and adjudicating dance. Trained and taught at “The Gold School of Dance” for over 20 years. Debbie was also a member of the faculty at Dean College school of Dance and director of “The Jazz Company.” She has been a Master Teacher for American Dance Awards, Dance Masters of America and several Summer dance camps throughout the New England area. She has also been an Adjudicator for American Dance Awards and Dance Masters of America regional and national competitions. Miss Debbie is excited to be teaching at Erica’s Dance Academy and spread her knowledge and love of dance to all the dancers.
Shannon began dancing at the age of 2 and at age 5 was competing with Hope Specht's School of Dance. When Shannon was 10 she began training at The Gold School, where she became a member of their award winning competition team. While there she performed in numerous benefit shows and at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. She was also a member of the 2000 World Champion US Tap Dance Team. While attending Bridgewater State University she was a member of the dance company and competitive ensemble. She holds a degree in early childhood education and psychology. She has been teaching dance for 14 years in various studios in MA and RI, including at EDA's summer intensive for the past three years. She is very excited to be a part of the EDA family.
Sharon is a Certified Personal Trainer and has been in the health and fitness industry for 7-years. Sharon specializes in designing custom exercise programs for both adults and children. Her love of fitness began when she started dancing at the age of 3. Sharon enjoyed 15-years of dance and gymnastics training. In addition, she has a degree in behavioral psychology and has worked with children as a behavior consultant for the past 14-years. Sharon has always had a passion for exercise and loves teaching children how to make exercise fun.
It is her goal to teach children good exercise habits now that will take them through adulthood. She is most pleased to teach body Conditioning at EDA.
Marissa Hill grew up in Kingston, MA and is currently studying at Northeastern University. She has been dancing since the age of three and received her dance education at The Gold School as part of the nationally recognized Project Moves Dance Company under the direction of Rennie Gold. There, she studied Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Tap and Musical Theatre with Kathy Kozul, Naila Bellinger, Kelie Grant, and Larry Sousa. Marissa was part of the original cast of The Gold's School's ...Accept ME, which Won critical acclaim after performing at several high schools across Massachusetts as well as the Joyce Theater in New York City.
Marissa currently dances with Urbanity, a professional contemporary company in Boston, MA as well as the Northeastern University Dance Company (NUDANCO). Her solo choreography and performance has won several high score awards at national competitions and her group choreography has been featured annually in NUDANCO performances. Marissa is very excited to be joining the Erica's Dance Academy family, teaching Ballet.
Twenty-two year old Mariano Figueroa was born in Brockton, Massachusetts where he currently lives and works as a hip-hop instructor. At the age of 10-years old Mariano started off B-boying (breakdancing) with his cousin and friends. In 2008 Mariano discovered his love for dancing when he first saw the Jabbawockeez on America’s Best Dance Crew, an American competitive dance reality television series) . What he liked most is that they could manipulate movement to the music and tell their own story. God and his family are his source of support. His dancing idols are Phi Nguyen, Shaun Evaristo, Mike Song, Keone Madrid and the Jabbawockeez. He is always watching for new videos of hip hop dance pieces to draw inspiration from either YouTube dance videos or dance shows on TV. Aside from dancing, Mariano enjoys drawing anime characters, jogging with friends, and outdoor sightseeing. Mariano finds that after spending prayer time with God, he is blessed with some of his best choreography.
"Twenty year old Andrea Kinsman is a graduate of EDA and has accepted a position with us as an EDA dance instructor. She has been dancing since age three and commenced competing regionally and nationally at age six. She has studied the art of dance with many different locally and nationally known instructors including Rennie Gold, Derek Piquette, Rory Freeman and Al Blackstone. Andrea has also studied with Burtwood Performing Arts Center and The Academy of Cinema and Television where she gained extensive acting and musical theatre training.
Andrea graduated from Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical High School in 2014 as an Early Childhood Education Professional. She currently works with Deaf and Hard-of- Hearing children and is working hard to become an interpreter. She is very excited to share her passion for teaching dance & working with children at Erica’s Dance Academy."
