Erica began dancing at the age of three (3) and has been teaching for over twenty (20) years. During those years she taught for various studios in Southeastern Massachusetts. Erica is an award winning choreographer, who has won numerous high score awards for group and solo routines. In 2001 & 2002, Erica traveled to Germany as a dancer to represent the United States in an International Dance Competition (IDO), placing 5th (in the group division) & 2nd (in the formation division) in the world.
Erica fulfilled a lifelong dream in opening her own studio in 2005 and now 16 years later, Erica’s passion for dance has shown through in her students, with some of them now dancing at various colleges, Walt Disney World and international dance companies.
In 2018, Erica became a member of the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Association and a member of Rhee Gold's International Dance Entrepreneurs Association (I.D.E.A). In 2021, Erica became a member of the prestigious Dance Masters of America organization.
Erica is looking forward to continuing and sharing her passion with more aspiring young dancers.
Jen has been teaching the art of dance for 16 years. She began her dance training at the age of 5 with Frances Stevenson, and then with Sandra Baker's Studio of Dance. She finished her dance training at Kathy Medina's Studio of Dance where she trained for 6 years and was part of an award winning national team, qualifying for Team USA for the International Dance Organization. As a teacher, she has taught all ages and enjoys passing on her passion for dance to her students. Her routines have been recognized for her choreography at competition, and one of her solo routines even qualified and competed for Team USA in Germany at the IDO. Jen is happy to share her love of dance with all of the Erica's Dance Academy family.
Shannon began dancing at the age of 2 and at age 5 was competing with Hope Specht's School of Dance. When Shannon was 10 she began training at The Gold School, where she became a member of their award winning competition team. While there she performed in numerous benefit shows and at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. She was also a member of the 2000 World Champion US Tap Dance Team. While attending Bridgewater State University she was a member of the dance company and competitive ensemble. She holds a degree in early childhood education and psychology. She has been teaching dance for 14 years in various studios in MA and RI. Miss Shannon is very excited to teach the eager new generation of dancers.
Marissa Hill grew up in Kingston, MA and is currently studying at Northeastern University. She has been dancing since the age of three and received her dance education at The Gold School as part of the nationally-recognized Project Moves Dance Company under the direction of Rennie Gold. There, she studied ballet, contemporary, modern, tap, and musical theater with Kathy Kozul, Nailah Bellinger, Kellie Grant, and Larry Sousa. Marissa was part of the original cast of The Gold School’s …Accept ME, which won critical acclaim after performing at several high schools across Massachusetts as well as the Joyce Theater in New York City. She currently dances with Urbanity, a professional contemporary company in Boston, MA, as well as the Northeastern University Dance Company (NUDANCO). Her solo choreography and performance has won several high score awards at national competitions and her group choreography has been featured annually in NUDANCO performances.
Marissa is very excited to be working with the Competition Team more and helping grow the program to new levels.
Sophia is a graduate of EDA and is beyond excited to join the staff. She has been dancing since age three and commenced competing regionally for most of her dance career.She has studied the art of dance with many different locally and nationally known instructors.
Sophia is currently enrolled at Bridgewater State University working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. Sophia is very excited to continue to share her passion for teaching dance & working with children at Erica’s Dance Academy.
Sharon is a Certified Personal Trainer and has been in the health and fitness industry for 7-years. Sharon specializes in designing custom exercise programs for both adults and children. Her love of fitness began when she started dancing at the age of 3. Sharon enjoyed 15-years of dance and gymnastics training. In addition, she has a degree in behavioral psychology and has worked with children as a behavior consultant for the past 14-years. Sharon has always had a passion for exercise and loves teaching children how to make exercise fun.It is her goal to teach children good exercise habits now that will take them through adulthood. She is most pleased to teach body Conditioning at EDA.
Marissa began dancing at an early age and is a graduate of Erica's Dance Academy in 2017. Marissa's love for dance led her to Dean College where she is entering her Sophomore year as a Dance Major and looking forward to receiving her Associates Degree at the end of 2019.
In 2018, Marissa had the pleasure of being a dancer for an up and coming dance company called Expressive Movement based out of Boston and was lucky enough to tour the New England area in its first Tour.
Marissa is very excited to be back in her Home studio teaching Hip Hop and lyrical and looking forward to sharing her passion and love for dance with the younger dancers.

Matthew Hooper started his professional career at the age of 12 and his numerous credits include stage, print and radio. Matthew received a B.F.A in Ballet from the University of the Arts in 2008 and performed as a Soloist of Brandywine Ballet as well as a guest artist for numerous companies across the United States. Matthew is currently a faculty member at the Cambridge School of Weston and has been teaching a variety of dance forms in Massachusetts for the last eight years. Matthew is very excited to continue with the EDA and looks forward to getting back to the studio!
Sarah Ready began her dance training at the age of three in her neighboring town, Attleboro, Massachusetts. Ready has studied dance in a studio setting for sixteen years, training in jazz, ballet, pointe, acrobatics, contemporary and tap. She is a dance instructor at Dance Theater of New England in Massachusetts, where she focuses on ballet, acrobatics and jazz. Alongside her studio training, she has trained with Boston Ballet for five years and was a member of the Newport Rhode Island Moving Company’s rendition of the Nutcracker, performing the solo of the soldier doll for two years. Ready graduated, June 2017, from The University of California, Riverside in three years where she majored in Dance and minored in Business. While in her dance studies at UCR, she concentrated in jazz and ballet, but also studied modern, hip hop and choreography. Ready has received the Chancellor’s Performance Award and was invited to American College Dance Festival Association. Ready was also a member of the 2016-2017 UCR Gluck Touring Dance Ensemble. After college, Ready became a member of Ballet Carreras under the direction of Jose Gonzalez Pilar formerly of Ballet de Santiago, Kelly Lamoureux formerly of National Ballet of Canada and Sofia Carreras, former student of George Balanchine and Patricia Neary, who performed alongside Mikhail Baryshnikov. Ready also became a featured dancer in Avocado Dance Theater Under the direction of Lori Craig Torok, former Radio City Music Hall Rockette. Since returning to the east coast, Ready has joined Project 31, a Boston based contemporary dance company.

Kiana is a dancer, artist and performer from southern New Hampshire. She is a company member for Boston Community Dance Project (BCDP), a contemporary fusion based dance company directed by Sarah-Kararina (SKooJ CorE-O). Kiana is also manger of the BCDP social media pages. She teaches at workshops and conventions with the company, such as ‘MOTIVZE’ and has set choreography for the company as well as danced in their annual show 2018 ‘VOCALIZE!’ She also performs in shows all around New England as well as performed in the 2018 NYC Carnival (Choreographers Ball) and Brickhouse NYC Open House in Time Square. Kiana has a background of training in contemporary, hip hop, ballet, musical theatre, jazz and modern and currently teaches in several areas in Boston and New Hampshire such as Boston Ice Dance Academy, Zello Dance Studios and several other studios around New England. She is also a company member of Saving Grace Dance Ensemble, an inspirational ballet and modern based company who performs in New Hampshire, Boston and NYC and is a current member of Tilted Colab, a contemporary and improvisational based company. Kiana also has a passion for jazz funk, hiphop, urban, fusion and improvisation classes and has has taken classes with Brian Friedman, Yanis Marshall, Willdabeast Adams, Robert Green and several other artists throughout NYC and Boston. Kiana was a dancer and choreographer for Danceworks Boston for seasons 11 and 12 and has taught at several workshops and studios in a wide range of styles. Kiana has a passion for storytelling and practices this art form by creating dance concept videos, editing promotional videos for her dance companies and is also a singer and songwriter with music on Spotify and ITunes. While developing her personal artistry, she has performed for both charity and professional events all around New Hampshire, Boston, and New York. Kiana loves various forms of art and has a passion for teaching several styles of dance to children and adults of all ages! Kiana is very excited to join the EDA family!!
Candace Mitchell is a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher from Boston, MA. Her early training focused in The Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus and has continued on into her current teaching and performing career. She has received a BA in dance and business from Dean college Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance. While there, she was Vice President of the Step Team, placing 1st in UDA competitions in both step and hip hop. Some of the choreographers she has worked with include, James Morrow, Kristina Berger, and Bill Evans. She has also performed in festivals with companies such as Urbanity Dace, and Koresh Dance Company. Candace is currently judging for Headliners while performing across the United States and focusing on the education of her students.
Candace is very excited to join the EDA family and share her love for dance with her student
